4/52 Week Challenge - Research Update

Just wanted to tell you that I have been doing research for the comic and that I'm not slacking off yet. That is all. Here is a me not slacking off.

Ahhhh yes. That sir. Is the blank stare of productivity.

Hope you like,
Kal

Oh, your still here. Guess I'll explain then. I want the comic to be very story driven and character driven and by that I mean I want the visuals to represent what is needed for the story or the character development and not the other ways around. Where I make a bunch of designs and try to shoehorn them into the story. I think that's best and besides, the concept sketches were basically me just doodling for a while and I think this is a tad more structured.

I will also be doing daily sketches for @Sketch_Dailies so there will still be a good amount of art to fill the gaps in the meantime.

Hope you like, for reals this time,
Kal

2/52 Week Challenge - schedule

Just want to start off by saying that I'm sorry for already falling behind... or have I?! The answer to that is both yes and no.

Have I been posting something every week like I was supposed to? no. So in that respect I'm sorry but in my defense, it felt weird to post something on my art blog that wasn't art, visual art. The beginning of this process has been very and primarily meditative in nature and as a result I don't have much to show for it, but I do have something.

And that brings me to the happy "yes". I can't show you the development ideas because that would completely ruin the idea of making a comic but I can prove that the ideas exist... sort of... hopefully is what you get out of it... ANYWAYS HERE IT IS!

There is even more in my sketch book not to mention my head but you know... I thought this was enough blurry words for today and the blog. Also listed are the other ideas I had for comics that I felt were more "casual" in nature and that's not what I was in the mood for, though it maybe in the future because I still like the concept.

Man, I sure hope that stuff is illegible.

This is how I was going to plan on releasing everything. It's very likely that it may change in some direction or the other but this is what seems manageable right now. Do to the underlying world and the whole story arc that will need to be written if not at least developed to some degree, I am planning on releasing the first "chapter" or "book" or whatever it ends up being by the end of the year. It seems achievable and that's the most important thing about this for me, getting started!

How does the schedule look to everybody? Possible?

Thanks,
Kal

"Corn"

I mostly just wanted to own this shirt and I couldn't find what I wanted so I made it myself. Also, I guess this falls under another comic idea though maybe I should start calling the comics that have people as them as comics and the rest... things... I... make....with...hands, that attempt at useing my brain really fell apart there. Most of the "comics" aren't really comic like, I will have to rectify that... eventually... after the current batch is done.
If you want to get the shirt yourself you can order it with the link below with my blessing.

Comic 7 -"Knife"

Just, why is it there.... I don't even!!! What possible use could you have for it on a constant bases!

Comic 4

*Best viewed enlarged for maximum enjoyment*
I have some time to go back and do all the comic ideas I had but didn't finish for the past... 6 weeks! Man I'm lazy. Sorry for the lack of posts but I've been busy doing a lot of freelance work, the majority of which I am finished right now. So I am going to try to get as much personal projects done before they can find me and give me more work, the beggining of which is getting to where I should be with these comics.

Hope you like,
Kal

Comic 3 and t-shirts

Comic number three, just like I promised, no, it's not late! I just had to deal with a lot of paper work on this one. "What paper work you say?" Why, of the magical t-shirt purchasing variety my overly inquisitive friend. Now stop asking me so many questions and head over to this place. "WHY?"... I thought we went over this already... You dooo... want to be cool don't you... all the cool kids are doing it, ask around you will find it to be true.

Hope you like,
Kal

Angry Face

Just playing around with different painting styles. I really like this one as is does a lot of things I like by simply exciting. Sorry this was late but I did the Loki painting last week so I feel it averages out.

The beginning...

So I was gonna start doing this weekly comic. It's mostly to keep me in interesting work and a place to put some ideas that needed a home. This first one just seemed a good place to start with the look and so forth.
