Sketchbook Jan 2014

digi sketchbook

Real sketchbook

Finally finished my sketchbook. I really hated that sketchbook and it's paper quality so hopefully I like the next one better and draw more or you know... more digital stuff.

Hope you like,

Kal

Happy new year peoples! Had a bit of a lapse there as I went from party to party and project to project but I got something done today and it's monday, soooo... that's like a normal work week that normal people have. I'm going to have to start doing the dailies on a weekday basis just so I can get some work done and have the weekends to catch up. Anyways, This fine person is Shawna Jade Daigle and you can find some arts here:

Today's Daily is for Dane Dilabbio, you can see some of the things he's working on here:

A bunch of people have expressed an interest in getting into the caricature dealy I'm doing here and all you have to do to get in is become a follower of this blog and you get put in the list. The sooner you do this the higher in the list you will be to getting it done. To do this, you scroll to the top of the page and hit the "follow" button if its not there your either not signed into google or don't have an account with google. This will put you on my follower list which is what I'm going through for these, as for the rest of you... your dead to me! I mean... I don't really know how else to do this. I guess contact me with a photo and I'll put you into a list thought the following me thing helps me out so that would be extra special awesome if you did that. K thanks I've talked to much.

As a reward and hopefully a incentive program I'm going to be doing caricatures of the people following the blog. I'm going to be going in a "first come first served" sort of way, so if you not on there now start following as soon as possible to reserve your spot on the list.

The first spot goes to Eduardo Pasaoa who is also a wonderful artist and you can see more of his work here:

These are turning into bi-dailies but I promise Ill get this on track when I don't have to manage three projects at the same time, namely... next week. I made a sketch book out of my crappy used animations so their are Easter eggs in some of them if you squish your face to the screen. Should probably mention that these are gestures, 30 seconds - 2 minutes I guess.

I try to avoiding scanning things like the plague so here are some photos of the sketches of the day. I realize I need a lot more work with my short hand, expressions and faces in particular so thats what I was working on today and probably for a while still.

Sketch book Drop 20011

Finished off another sketch book and compiles some of the highlights. It got a bit cropped off there in the end witch is unfortunate but this isn't that big of a deal anyways so I'm going to just let it go. This was an old sketch book I would use for big life drawing but But picked up again, after about a year, to finish it off with moslty doodles and some more life drawing.
