Really old Ninja Game

A game I worked on ever so long ago, I think this was the second or something project I ever did coming out of school. The project was fun, I had pretty much full control of the project and the art direction as well as the animation. Ended up probably putting too much work into the project for what it was worth but I was young and naive and I needed the money. There is a lot I could show from this but this will have to do as theres no working game to showcase and the game is mostly a collection of backgrounds and assets and cars and little things like that.

It never got completed as far as I know but I like the things I did on it and what I learned going through all that.

"Making Sense of One" Documentary Animations Pitch

The story reel to pitch some animation segments into a documentary about Canadian multi-cultural youths trying to figure out who they are.

Storyboards and Animatics

A few storyboards and animatics I did for a company to help their employees transition into using some new software. There are 3 in total and I feel they get better as the series progresses, watch the rest and see for yourselves!

A certain Game design

Some character designs and opening story scroll I was commissioned to do a few years back. The idea was to be something like a Zelda game, which of course was super awesome and made this project one of the funnest things I have yet to work on. Try to figure out what the story is by the image there. The story is actually written along the edges but I doubt anyone will be able to decipher that, good luck!

3rd Rock Logo

Logo and bg design for a game company named "3rd Rock Studios", hence the content in the image. Really fun project and really great bunch of guys. I ended up doing some concept work for some ideas they had but that didn't end up going to far but still a really fun experience.

"Almost Naked Animals" Games

I made some more games! I did these a few months ago, it's 6 mini games around the series "Almost Naked Animals". A lot of the art and animation was already done because it is an existing show but I did do all the graphic design and the art and animation that turns the show into a game. I did not work on anything for the over-world  just the mini games and I haven't gone through the entire world so I don't know if all the mini games are mine but definitively the first few you encounter and it should add up to 7 games in total I worked on.

Later on I will go through and do more of a showcase of the art and animation I made for these but there is a lot to show and I can't be bothered right now.

I suppose I should say, I do not own "Almost Naked Animals" or any of the art and please support the show!

I'll just put these here. Here is some of the art from my Giving Arcade's "Sweet!" video. This has been in the files for quite some time, feels good to be able to finally air it out.

I video I made about 2 years ago. The company is about to launch this November in the apple app store.

The Cozmix Trailer

The video I've been sort of working on is up on this site. I also did the little Easter egg animations on the site. The trailer and animation was done by myself but the planets are done by... Frank (I'll get back to you about a last name) and the character design and final art is done by Lauren Rowlands

Spongebob Games

I've been waiting for these Spngebob games to come out and though I can't seem to find them on the actual nick and ytv websites. The links seem to be there but when you click on them they promptly take you to, not the games.
I can find them through google so I guess it must be ok. I did all the art and animation for these games, the game concept is by Gamepill and there is a lot of art sourced from the show and that should all be pretty obvious as their traditional paintings and such. Games and Art belong to Nickelodean.

A side note.
I just finished a project by setting aside some others. I could probably show things from that project now because I'm pretty sure they were sending out a press release but I'm going to hold off until I'm a bit more certain about it. Should be a bit busy catching up on projects so I don't know if I'll have time to go back to my dailies and such but I'll try for my own peace of mind.

Hope you like,
Kal

Holy crap! Things I made!

Sorry I haven't been putting up the dailies but I've been preoccupied. Trying to balance 2 projects (one of them is very time consuming but awesome) and life. While you wait for me to stop being a flake, here is a game I did the art and animation for a few months ago.

(psssst... the link for the game is the picture)

I was actually looking up some other games that are more resent and though I can kinda find them I can't get to the actual playable games so I guess their being put up right now. Hopefully by Monday I can show you some new stuff.

Your pal,

Anomaly Press Plush Helmet

I like the first one better but it's a bit too cartoony and whatnot. I guess this was a promotion/ design for a plush helmet their selling as a promotion for the book.

Anomaly Press Cover design

Cover design for a graphic novel. I don't know if I'm allowed to give away the plot but they are supposed to be releasing it this week so just look out for the book or release information. This took an amazingly long time to do so suffice to say, this was not a speed painting. I think from concept to finish this took about 20 - 25 hours. So many buildings. I recorded this painting, so that's going up soon but it's a huge file so it will take a long time if I have the computing power at all to do it.

Gameloft test

I don't think I can show the background for the interface proposal but there it is all the same.
The run cycle will apparently only work for those using internet explorer, my apologies.

Fattail concept art

Concept work and development art for Fattail games' upcoming release. The premise is the company is named after fat tail gecko's ( a change I suggested from fat tail scorpions, which are not as cute and likable). Various ideas for main characters secondary soldiers and owl antagonists. See where their at with stuff here.

49 Play Commission

Some promotional art and game backgrounds for the "Treasure Hunter" game I for for 49 Play. The promotional pieces are pretty much the sizes they are intended to be while the background are significantly cut down here. I'm not sure when the game will come out but I know it's not out yet, I will post something when it comes out. Until then, I hope this ties you over.(*Update* now with images you can actually make out, enjoy)

So the game concepts I was working on back in the day seem to have their own design splash page now. I understand that more artwork and the like will start popping up here as they become available. Can't say too much about the project but it was a lot of fun to work on, lots of scope and imagination and I can only hope I can go back to work on it some more or on some other titles. Check it out.

Cheers,

Kal
